We love LBI

We're home! Our LBI vaca was fantastic. Lots of beach,
pool, and summer fun! All pics are posted and I tried to
organize by day to keep them somewhat manageable.
Highlights were:

Joseph mini golf: 5 legit holes in one plus a winning "end
shot" to win a free game.

Isabelle fishing lessons: LOVED IT! She was very into it.
Exploring, learning, and really enjoying the entire
experience.

Adelina at the beach: total beach girl. Spent hours at a
time jumping waves and boggie boarding. Would have stayed
in for 8 hours at a time if we didn't make her leave. So
fun to watch her.

Jack as a real part of our family: talking more, exploring,
running (not fun!), and just being part of the gang.

My kids are so lucky to be able to spend fun times with
their best buds Timmy and Paxton. Last week Johanna and

Smurf-tastic fun

We turned a rainy night into a Smurfy night! Adelina,
Isabelle, Miranda, Annaliese and Evan got Smurfed-out with
Smurf Happy Meals and a trip to the movies. Adelina also
gave Miranda half of her special BFF necklace - so cute at 7
years old! Super Smurfy fun!

Not summery but super fancy!

Adelina deserved a treat for a special accomplishment, and I
could not figure out something appropriate to get her. It
had to be something super special, that she really wanted,
and that she had to feel like she earned. Well... did I
find it! I took the girls back to school shoe shopping on
Saturday at the Nordstrom's sale and Adelina wanted these
high-top black sequin sneakers. No way! They are hideous
and just not a logical choice for back to school shoes.
Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a girl about Ad's age
trying them on. I asked our young, hip sales-girl what she
thought of them, and she told me they are VERY popular with
grammar school girls and sold out in most colors. Hmmm -
made me rethink. While I would not let her pick these for
back to school shoes, I did sneak a pair into my bag and
surprise her at home. These were her special treat and she
absolutely flipped. She completely understood that these
were a reward just for her, and she loved them even more
because of that. So now we are the proud owners of high-top
sequin sneakers. Lucky us :)

Everyone needs a digital water-proof camera

I cannot believe I never had one or even really knew about
digital water-proof cameras. How is that possible in my
world? I just didn't. Then we had an accident with my
point and shoot, I started to look for a replacement and
found a whole world of digital water-proof cameras. Really?
Digital? Why didn't anyone tell me? $60 and a whole lot of
fun later we are now a family with a digital water-proof
camera and LOVING it. Kids had a blast in the pool with it.
I loved having it in the pool and not standing with one arm
up the whole time. LOVING it. Everyone needs one...
period.

Boston was beautiful!

Our road trip to Boston was a great time. The weather and
the city were both beautiful. The kids enjoyed the sites,
the pool, and are now catching up on much needed sleep :)
We will def be back to Boston again.

Birthday Weekend - complete!

Whew!  What a weekend.  Adelina's birthday was on Friday and it was non-stop until late on Sunday night.  On Thursday night Adelina celebrated with dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.  Friday was the big birthday, and we hosted a super fun (and wet) glamour girl party at the house.  SO CUTE!  The very next morning we had the girls first swim meet of the season (Adelina 4th place, Isabelle 1st place) and then back home for their joint June family birthday party.  But oh no – it did not stop there.  Then on Sunday we headed to NYC for a girls day with their friend who's birthday is ALSO in June and had a special American Girl birthday party.  Lions, tigers, and bears – oh my!  Very tired but most of all lots of great times and smiles.  Happy birthday girls!
