Pony Rides

We wanted to make Isabelle's day special, so after her dance
class party, we took Adelina, Isabelle, and Joseph to a
horse farm. The girls rode horses - licorice and caramel.
Isabelle really really loves horses and had a great time!

Isabelle pre-birthday dance party

Isabelle was lucky enough to have a pre-birthday party at
dance class. We got Hanna Montana accessories and had "4"
donuts from Dunkin. Adelina was even allowed to join the
class for the party! Isabelle has so much fun and felt so
special!

Outside Mount Sinai hospital there was a man with his fly
open with a catheter leading into a catheter bag (filled
with urine) and he was walking on the street smoking a
cigarette! Only in NY.

Dance Photos

Tonight we did dance photos. We started in all "pink" and
then added the costumes. Although I am relatively pleased
with the end results, the experience was terrible. Both
girls were complete torture in the studio. I never expected
any good shots, but I was lucky. The theme this year is the
Olympics and each class represents a sport at the games.
Adelina is doing ballet (Synchronized Swimming) and tap
(Softball). Isabelle is doing ballet (Karate). Their show
is coming up on June 20th. Fun, fun, fun!

Still a favorite

Joseph is 6 months older now, but this is still a favorite
picture of mine. I love how he is laughing. I love how
Pop-Pop is smiling. I love how much they look alike, even
at 62 years old and 10 months old :)

PFE NY Family BBQ

Today we hosted the Microsoft PFE NY Family BBQ. What a
beautiful day! It was sunny and 80 - perfect weather.
Normal BBQ gig plus Phil the bag piper and the water slide.
Who could ask for more? Great time!

How old am I?

Tonight I took Adelina to cheerleading uniform fittings. Oh
my - I felt so old! But she did look really cute! Some of
the items are so big on her they will easily last her 2-3
years - I think that's a good thing given the prices :)

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! Given the recent few weeks, this was a
pretty nice weekend. Last night we relaxed with the
DeCoite's, and today Adelina was lucky enough to march in
the Memorial Day parade with her dance department. They
were so adorable! All of the girls wore their "pink" and
their stage makeup and looked great. Believe it or not,
Adelina actually walked the whole 1.5 miles and had a
fantastic time in the parade. Afterwards we went to
Mom-Mom's for one of our first swims of the season. The
weather and the water were both warm! Even Joseph got in on
the action with swimming twice and his first ice cream cones
ever. All in all, it was nice to get back to some normalcy
today. Tomorrow is another sad day, unfortunately.

Kindergarten Orientation

Can someone remind me how Adelina got to Kindergarten age
already? WOW! Today was Kindergarten orientation. She was
so excited. In normal Adelina fashion, we had to review all
options of what to wear, how to do her hair, etc. It was
adorable to see her so nervous. At orientation she met her
teacher, the school principal, nurse, guidance counselor,
etc. The teacher took the kids on a tour of the classroom.
A really cute intro to Kindergarten. But wow,
Kindergarten!!! I am not sure I am ready for this :)

Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day and a fun evening. Today Yesica
gave the kids Messi soccer jerseys. Lionel Messi is an
Argentine soccer player who plays for the Spanish soccer
club in Barcelona and the Argentine national team.
Apparently he is considered to be one of the best "football"
players of his generation. They all looked adorable in
their matching jerseys!!!

After dinner Adelina and I ran to the dollar store for a few
things and her pick of the night were kites for her and
Isabelle. I had zero faith they would fly - but they did!
They were a total hit! Worth all $2!!!

Now they are in for baths, then bed, then the American Idol
finale. Here is to hoping there are no more dark capes and
smoke when Adam appears tonight.

I think Spring has Sprung

Even though it has been a crazy few days and weeks, I
realized today that Spring has finally arrived. Isabelle
and Joseph were on the driveway this AM with a motorized
scooter. The birds were chirping and the grass was green.
I think I can officially proclaim it to be Spring!

How many pictures?

Uh - skip that last comment on the pictures being ready in
the AM. Just plugged in the camera to start the download
while I get ready for bed and there are over 1450 pictures
for me to sort and edit. May take some time. Maybe I will
do in batches. In my crazier days I would stay up all night
now and do them and not be able to sleep until they were
done. Glad I got past that phase :) Time for bed.

Home Sweet Home

We are home, finally. What a long day today. J5 had a
terrible night (long gross story) and a bad day. Ended up
in emergency care before our flight. Got stuck in airport
security, ran to gate, plane was already technically
"closed" but the nicest staff member ever broke all of the
rules and let us and 2 other women on the flight. J5 had 3
"incidents" on the flight. But we are finally home.

My mom has already asked if the pictures are up yet. I am
good, but not that good. Will do in the AM. Tired,
drained, nauseous, and did I mention tired?

First time for everything

Aunt Geneen treated Isabelle to her first manicure to prep
for our trip to Disney. So let me get this straight - both

A penny saved is a Disney trip earned!

Great news! Adelina saved up $169 in loose change since Christmas. I am proud of her! This is in addition to a ton of cash she saved / stole from gifts and our wallets :) She saved this all for Disney and if you ask her what she is going to spend it on she tells you that she is paying for our hotel. Too Cute!

Tonight we did Pt. Pleasant with the Lowry's. I thought it
would be a night filled with rides and perhaps some ice
cream. But when we found the rides closed we reverted to
the less windy but more money hungry arcade. Again, I
assumed wrong and thought we'd walk out with some random 5
point pencil eraser tops and mini bouncing balls. What I
did not know was that Daniel and Caroline are arcade claw
experts. You know, those impossible games with the claw or
crane where you try to win cheap stuffed animals? Well, we
will never look at a claw game again after tonight. Between
Daniel and Caroline they must have won 11 or more times in
about 90 minutes. It was totally impressive. Unfortunately
for Joe, he'll need to try to live up to that next time the
kids see an arcade.

Lazy Saturday afternoon. Joseph is asleep. Adelina is
watching iCarly. Isabelle comes up to me and says "Mom,
let's play camera time. You take my picture." So I did.

Save these for the future

Adelina and Isabelle played wedding. Adelina was the bride,
even though she claims she never wants to get married. I
want to save these so in 20 years when Adelina get married
and Isabelle is her maid of honor, I can take out these
pictures and embarrass them tremendously!
