Barron Art Center Holiday Train Exhibit

On December 8th each year we visit the Barron Art Center
Holiday Train Exhibit. This year was no different :)
Joseph REALLY loved the train and would have literally
stayed there for hours. There is also a raffle each year
for an official Lionel train set. If anyone is reading
this, we would love to win that one year :)

Model Railroad Club of Union County

Joseph had a fantastic time visiting the Model Railroad Club
of Union County. There was a sound and lights show and a
small Thomas Engine. Great trip for a train lover!

Every year Geneen makes a Gingerbread house with the girls.
They try and try. Some years are better than others. Two
years ago I got out the hot glue gun to assist. But this
year it was all done and looks fantastic!

"American Girls"

Adelina and Isabelle are still recovering from the big day
in NYC, but got up nice and early for school today. They
both decided to wear their American Girl souvenir shirts
which actually made me really happy. At least the shirts
aren't a total waste! The girls also dressed their dolls in
their new outfits - ready for the cold of winter :)

Fantastic day in New York City

Adelina and Isabelle had a fantastic day in New York City.
What a treat! Miss Jenn and I took the girls to Radio City,
Rockefeller Center, and the American Girl store. We saw the
Christmas Show, walked around NY, and had a fantastic time.
Adelina especially enjoyed the American Girl store and could
have stayed there for hours! For all of the pictures, look

Decorating for Christmas - Part 1

Decorating for Christmas didn't go as smoothly as past
years, but that's OK. Normally we decorate and do the fun
stuff the Friday after Thanksgiving, but that all got side
barred by Disney Tangled and some other fun activities. So
Saturday and Sunday we decorated a little at a time. The
kids had a great time trimming the mini tree out front. It
looks pretty cute too, considering it is real and there all
year round :) Then I let the kids do their "kids" tree
inside down in the family room. I didn't do one thing
except a few ornaments at the top that I was "told" where to
put. This is their tree, so it was all them. I LOVED
turning around and seeing Adelina, Joseph, and Isabelle all
sitting with an ornament hanging from each ear. It was the
absolute funniest thing. Would make a great Christmas card
for the future :) So although it was loud, messy, and took
a long time, the kids trimmed their tree all by themselves
and had a great time doing it! The rest of the decorating
to come soon. Merry Christmas!

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Adelina and Isabelle really do have a crafting bug, and they
love to make themed crafts for the holidays. This weekend
we made fun table placecards for Thanksgiving and each girl
made a Thanksgiving card for their teacher. They had so
much fun using thumbprints to make the turkeys, and I think
it all looks pretty cute.

Cannot take any credit for the idea though. We were

Adelina is the Special Helper!

Adelina is her class' special helper this week. That
translates to running special errands for her teacher and
taking home the class "pet". The class pet is a stuffed
animal named Blue. He is adorable and wears a collar with
trinkets from all past special helpers. Adelina got Blue a
toy and took him everywhere with her this weekend!

What are you supposed to do?

It must be difficult to be a boy in a house with two older
sisters. While your sisters play dress up in poofy dresses
and put on makeup, what are you supposed to do? Today
Isabelle and Joseph played dress- up together. Instead of
poofy dresses, Joseph wore a kimono, beads, and a fur caplet
around his waist. Not the most masculine of costumes, but
much better than what could have been. Not to mention, he
had a blast!
