LBI Day 3: Playground, Kiddie Pool, Just Bead It, Beach, Ice Cream

Today was a hot one!!! We started out at the Bayside
playground with Matthew and Morgan but only lasted 15
minutes, max! It was hot and zero breeze, so we opted for
their kiddie pool instead. After that, we left Joe and
Joseph home and the "girl team" went to Just Bead It (in the
air condition!) to make bead anklets - totally adorable and
fun!!! When it finally cooled off we went to the beach
around 4pm and it was awesome - no people, warm water, nice
breeze - awesome! Wrapped up the day with waffles and ice
cream - yum!!!

LBI Day 2: Beach, Dinner, Fantasy Island

Day 2 complete! Amazing day at the beach with the kids.
The girls amazed me in the water. They both love the ocean
but today was totally different. Isabelle was a wave
jumping machine. But Adelina took the cake! She was out
about 100-125 feet and riding in waves on her boogie board
again and again and again! It was so fun to watch her!
After the beach we did a (very) late lunch / early dinner at
Tucker's, then we met the Cooks at Fantasy Island.
Hopefully after a day like this they all sleep well past
6:45am tomorrow!

Starting the "don't want to go home" countdown

Good morning. Today is Sunday - but is today day 1 of our
vaca or was yesterday day 1? That is the big question on
the mind of my 5 year old Adelina. She has a "don't want to
go home" countdown :) Yesterday was a good start to our
vacation. After LOTS of traffic we made it down safe and
sound. The kids wanted to go straight to the beach but we
needed to unpack and get settled. Joseph quickly started up
and down the stairs so out came two gates - pronto! Around
7pm we met Matthew and Morgan at the lighthouse. Adelina
said "this is the most beautiful sunset I ever saw!" - she
is so dramatic!

This morning (Sunday, I guess it is now Day 2 according to
Adelina) started EARLY! Isabelle and Joseph were both up
before 6:45 which is NOT normal in the Marinello house. Had
breakfast outside and by 9, Joe and Yesica took the kids for
a walk to Hand's. Looks to be another beautiful sunny day!

Turtle Back Zoo

Yesica took the kids today to the Turtle Back Zoo. I hear
the penguins were the hit of the day.

Finger paint?

For some reason, Joe thought it was a good idea to leave a 5
year old and 4 year old alone in the basement setup with

Vacation is just 15 short days away!

We leave for vacation on Saturday Aug 15th. Any ideas on
how I can make the next two weeks zip by? Ha ha! We are
all super excited. The girls CANNOT wait to spend a week at
the beach!

My calendar must be wrong... it says July 28th. Say it
ain't so! How can we be 4 1/2 weeks from "back to school"
week? I digress...

Today's weather forecast called for dark clouds and showers,
but they held off long enough for Adelina to go to swim
class and the kids to play out back. Joseph (aka little
surfer boy) had a ball playing with the mini skim board we
have. Once the watermelon came out all bets were off - they
are all watermelon monsters!

Adelina really is a Golden Knight

Adelina joined cheerleading and is already loving it. They
had two unofficial practices so far to just do a little
expo at the St. Cecelia's Fair opening night. Nothing
fancy - no dance or tumbling, but for her, this was like
Broadway! She was so excited... and looked adorable :)
Next week she has cheer camp in Clark for the whole week and
then official practice for SCGK starts August 1st.

Beach Day

We had a fantastic day today at the beach. The temperature
was perfect and the waves were just the right speed for our
boogie board girls. Adelina and Isabelle played great with
friends, and they all jumped waves, boarded, and played
together for hours. Even Joseph started to break out of his
shell towards the end of the day and slowly made his way
within feet of the water. He's still not brave enough to
actually touch the water, but we are getting there. Overall
a FANTASTIC day!

Bible School Show

This week the girls' attended Camp E.D.G.E at the First
United Methodist Church of Westfield. This is the 2nd year
they have attended, and they really enjoy the program! This
year was a camping theme, last year was a surfing theme.
The girls sang and danced for the show. Fantastic program.

"Happy" 4th of July

Happy 4th of July. In between runs to the hospital, we
spent 4th of July at home with the Lowrys and McKenzies.
The kids had a ball playing while the adults shuffled two by
two back and fourth to JFK. Not your traditional July 4th
holiday but still nice to be together. At night, Dan D'Arcy
did his fireworks display around the corner. It was great!
Then Isabelle and I fell asleep watching the Boston Pops.

Sun and Sand

On July 3rd we visited the DeCoite family in their new "home
away from home in Lavallette". Great day! We had a blast
on the beach and the Marinello girls were exposed to Boogie
boarding - love it! After dinner we headed to their bay
beach for fun on the playground. Awesome day!

She is officially a Golden Knight

Tonight was Adelina's first ever cheerleading practice. She
was so excited I couldn't control the ants in her pants. I
drove her there with every intention to stay for the first
10-15 mins of practice but NO CAN DO. No parents allowed.
Two hours later at pick-up time she still had ants in her
pants, so I guess she really liked it. Go Golden Knights!
